Orient to what is and what can be.

Moving Rasa is an improvisational movement form and contemplative practice that may be practiced anywhere. Movers connect their inner world to their outer movement AND how it is organized in relation to others, objects, and the environment. In particular, movers are supported to connect to their Rasa.

Rasa is the Indonesian word for taste or the discernment of feeling by the heart. Rasa also means essence in Sanskrit. Thus essence is not bound or fixed but moves. Moving Rasa is a practice of connecting to its dynamic nature by fully exploring the dynamics of our body and dismantling status quo fixity in its relationships to others in society.

In Moving Rasa I lift up all bodies but specifically center the bodies of the Global Majority diaspora (non-white) across ability, age, gender, class, and profession. My particular expression of Moving Rasa is my continued integration of my Austeronesian philosophies, as I hope that yours will eventually connect with your ancestry.

As a practice, Moving Rasa, formerly known as Parcon Resilience, centers movement and contact improvisation with inquiry as a bridge to connecting to one’s bodies/consciousness across physical, mental, emotional and spiritual realms. We are not bound to only interact with ourselves, each other and the systems around us in one way. Take a step back from how you normally engage with life and build trust and capacity with who and what you are and those who are around you. Co-create designs for life together. Lean into relationships and follow the momentum of life into the unknown. You got time.
