Preparing Designs for Community Building

Every offering irregardless of entry point is organized for a particular audience around a topic. Participants will go on an experiential journey where they will be guided to see and move things in their body as is and to open to the possibilities of what can be. In the list below I have organized examples for various entry points into this work.

Mental connections: Regardless of what your field is, you are a human in a body. Its blockages and limitations will control the flow of your ideas, openness to others, and your ability to radically imagine. Conversely your embodied consciousness will dismantle oppression, liberate curriculum and most importantly connect you to a felt sense of purpose. Let’s play!

Emotional responsiveness: Moving Rasa supports people to connect to what they are feeling through movement, relationships and their physical context. Our access to mourn, rage, celebrate, etc. connect to our feelings changes based on who is around us and how they are being. In MR we lean into this interdependence and find ways to connect to the depth of our being that are profound and beyond individual experience.

Spiritual development: Moving Rasa is a Person Of Color centered framework for customizing dance designs and rituals for exploring somatic movement and contact improvisation around social inquiry and purpose.

Physical Prowess: Moving Rasa connects physical prowess with philosophical practice. Physically it takes us to our edges of balance and momentum play alone, with objects and in contact with others while we are negotiating the terrain of our lives. Philosophically it rewrites how we understand these relationships with each gesture and phrase.

Socially Consciousness Space: Moving Rasa cultivates collective consciousness in affinity spaces and integrated spaces to support members to go through life with a sense of connection to collectives to form healthy boundaries for pleasurable and meaningful engagement.

Training: Moving Rasa is a comprehensive philosophy and system that is transmitted over 12 - 24 hours of group class time with additional homework and organizing. Trainings may be in-person or online. For more information please click here.

Generally offerings are 1-4 hours long as a workshop or 1-5 days as an intensive. Trainings are 12-24 class hours. Ongoing classes are either closed because I am contracted by someone or open.

If some of what I am sharing resonates with you and/or your collective, please connect with me at this email for more information.

Consultant

(ongoing)

Consulting work covers any other way that you would like to work with me. This is an embodied imagination approach, a slowing down and playing and leaning into one another.

Affinity Space and Liberatory Integrated Spaces: Culture change does not happen in one day. It take commitment from the top down and activation of everyone from the bottom up to participate. Click here to learn more consultation for affinity spaces, marginalized communities and liberatory integrated spaces.

Curricular Development: It also takes time to change a curricullum to incorporate different touch points for infusing the work. Changing curricullum is also about implementation and feedback to make sure things are working.
