AAPI Emergent Retreat

The answers are in our movements: Bearing Witness to AAPI Power

Come unveil the transformative power of Moving Rasa, an immersive experience crafted for Bay Area Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. Rooted in the wisdom of our bodies and guided by movement improvisation, Moving Rasa is an awareness form that empowers participants to navigate the intersection of knowledge, social justice, and cultural identity together.

Rasa, is the Indonesian word for taste or essence. We will delve into our distinct AAPI cultures, histories, and spirituality through the medium of movement. We hope to foster authentic connections and celebrate the diversity within the AAPI community while creating a space for unity through shared experiences.

Participants will experience how to build a type of group trust that invites reconnection to play and wisdom through the body using the Moving Rasa framework. Our goal is to excite Bay Area AAPI community to build regular groups to support one another to integrate embodied practice into their everyday and organization.

No prior experience in movement or the arts is necessary. Thanks to the American Rescue Plan for Survivors of Sexual Assault, this inclusive workshop is free and open to individuals of the local Bay Area AAPI community, embracing all abilities, ages, and classes. To ensure an intimate and supportive learning environment, the class size will be limited to approximately 15 people. Spots are starting to fill up now! Seize this opportunity and register now to embark on a powerful and culturally resonant journey with Moving Rasa.
