Moving Rasa

Community Relationship Labs

Rasa means taste in Indonesian. It is not just in relation to food, but to experience. This is a special opportunity to connect with the Rasa of our bodies, nature, culture, and community in meaningful ways.

These open labs are community spaces where anyone can come in to build curiosity about why they move the way they do using movement games and improvisation. We will play and create dance and theater games to learn more about how we have been socialized and how we can find liberation. No experience is needed, simply a willingness to explore. Those with more experience will guide the class to find inspiration for movement and relationship from what they see, touch, hear, and imagine. Also, something particularly fun to this form, is that participants are invited to explore weight play through points of balance by sliding, rolling or pivoting on surfaces of objects, the environment and each other. Be sure to let us know if you have any access needs or mobility concerns.

This event is open to all! Register if it is your 1st time attending.
