Leighann Kowalsky
Leighann centers community & relationships in her art-making & advocacy work. She choreographs, produces and facilitates learning spaces in movement, film and circus.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication with a minor in Psychology, and following an extensive dance performance career, a Master of Fine Arts degree in Choreography.
Leighann spent close to a decade working in large-scale live event production for Firehouse Productions, where she coordinated events such as iHeartRadio and Global Citizen Festival, & global tours such as Nine Inch Nails and Peter Gabriel. Also, she has served as the Director for Dance & Circus at Millbrook School from 2013 to 2021. From 2021-2023, Leighann supported the relaunch and rejuvenation of the Contemporary Circus and Immersive Arts Center in Troy, NY as Director of Operations.
Currently, she is the Global Coordinator at the Institute for the Study of Somatic Communication, & joined the team at Moving Rasa as Director of Development.
